"By wisdom a house is built and through understanding it is established, through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." Proverbs 24:3-4
“It is from the Church that you too will find the courage and support to walk the way of the Lord, nourished by personal prayer, prompted in silence, shaped by the Church’s liturgy, you will discover the particular vocation God has for you. Embrace it with joy.”

The Diocesan Office for Young Adult Ministry promotes ongoing formation of Catholic young adults in their late teens, twenties and thirties, both single and married, by providing resources, training and support for this ministry in parishes and on college campus centers.
The Office is guided by the U.S. Bishops’ Pastoral Plan for Young Adults: Sons and Daughters of the Light. We seek to promote communication and collaboration between the diocese and the varied young adult groups. We envision a Church where young adults are at home; where their gifts are acknowledged and their lives are supported and nourished; where young adults feel comfortable exercising servant leadership in worship, catechesis, social ministry and evangelization.
Sons and Daughters of the Light outlines four goals of connecting young adults with the Church. These goals serve as the basis of the resources and services provided in the diocese:
- with Jesus Christ
- with the Church
- with the mission of the Church in the World
- with a peer community
Events for Young Adults:
This program is open to young adults who are out of high school through age 25. It engages young adults in conversation and action about global concerns in regards to the teachings on Social Justice. The topic is different each month and does not build on the topic from the previous month. This allows young adults to join the conversation at any time. Join our Clay County group on the second Sunday of each month. A different parish will host these sessions. Dowload the meeting schedule by clicking here or visit our calanedar page.
The discussion topics this year include:
- Peace and Conflict
- Conflict Minerals
- Sustainable Living
- Culture and Diversity
- Intergenerational Justice
